Svan de'Silvae

ㅤintroㅤㅤBorn in the Skatay Range and trained as a Wood-warder, Svan left his home at a young age to escape traditions and grief. Traveling across The Source, he had found himself a new home and family in The Black Shroud. Working as a Lance for Hire, the Scions of the Seventh Dawn had caught wind of his deeds, inviting him to help their cause.
Now throughout Eorzea, many tales about the Warrior of Light are told, though few know his true identity. To those who do know of Svan's journey to the end of the universe and back, he is known as The Deathless Lance..

ㅤpersonalityㅤㅤThough he mostly stays to himself and isn't one for much small talk, Svan is still kind to those who approach him. He's cautious with how much he opens up to others, only expressing his true feelings with those he is extremely close to. While Svan has a calm and easygoing demeanor, there are often times he is battling his own mind, doing his best to shove anxiety to the depths of it. If not for the help of his spouse and friends, he's sure it would be much worse.

In Depth Lore

ㅤ✧ Early LifeㅤㅤSvan, originally named Virens ex'Nivis, was born in the Skatay Range. He is the second child of his parents, with his sister being five years older. While he was close with his mother, he only knew of his father through anecdotes due to his Wood-Warder status. He was a very energetic child, often causing his sister to chase after him and ensure he stayed safe. Even at a young age, Svan was incredibly strong willed and stubborn. As the years went on he had heard tales of the world outside of their village, even some of Viera who had abandoned it, causing him to question the ways of his own home. At age 13 their tradition states that one is able to choose their own forest name, and thus he became Svavorn. Following his renaming, it was required of his mother to give him his unique face tattoo, signifying he was beginning the next stage of his life. Shortly after, Svan was retrieved from the village and brought out to the surrounding forest to begin his Wood-Warder training.
During his training Svan was told more times than he could count that it was all to teach the young Viera how to survive "without the crutch of companionship". However he simply could not understand why it was seen as such a flaw and weakness to rely on others. Those within the village always had, and the tales he heard as a child spoke fondly of such connections. Regardless of their mentors' rigid rules, Svan managed to become close friends with another in training, Eneo, with the two often aiding each other.
One early morning, the pair had passed by another Wood-Warder who instantly recognized Svan by his tattoo and other features.. knowing this young Viera was his son. This would lead to Svan's first and last conversation with his father, if it could have even been called that. The two argued aggressively over Svan's approach to his training, to aiding another, which his father believed was only slowing Svan down. During their argument, his father said "I never expected my son to be such a disappointment.. to be such dead weight. You won't ever have the strength to protect these woods, just the foolishness to die in them." This left Svan with nothing but complete disdain for his biological father, going so far as to disregard his entire existence and relation to him.

I've been playing FFXIV since March 2024, so I'm still relatively new! I made Svan later that year, and have been working on his story ever since (with many changes along the way). I'm trying to come out of my shell and roleplay more in game, but I'm fairly shy and still learning the basics.
I love to gpose and am currently just running around in game finding new things to do!
I enjoy making new friends in this space and chatting about OCs.

I do have other OCs, however they are very much a work in progress. Yato is currently the most fleshed out after Svan, and will eventually get his own Carrd. The same will happen for Nava, Rohan, Felyx, and Emery once I have the time to write for them all. For now, I do have images of them posted on my socials under their respective tags!

currently, I prefer in-game RP. I'm on the lookout for RP venues, and I'm also down to meet in game to RP.
(I've only ever done RP in Discord with my current RP partner/best friend, and am at work for most of the day, so I'd need to figure out how to balance things properly. Being in game makes it more clear I'm available at that time).
